Great reminder…and yet quite a conundrum for lawyers who are intent on building business through relationships. I admit that I find myself chit-chatting with clients quite frequently, as my practice is in a development stage and I think the conversation leads to good relationships and future referrals. That said, I don’t charge clients by the hour for the chit-chat, so I’m wasting my own time–which is also a problem. It’s a fine line to find that balance.
